full details
BUYING A BUSINESS PROCESS
An ABBI associate will help you through the process of buying a business. We have a process that will help you identify your needs, and be sure that you know what to expect from your new business. Once you have contacted ABBI we will use the following steps to help you successfully enter into the right business.
Phase 1 — Initial Meeting
After making contact with an ABBI associate we will setup a confidential meeting with you to discuss your background, find out what your goals for the business are. We will also go over the buying process and review your expectations from ABBI and from the business. This will also be a time where we can discuss any questions you may have.
Phase 2 — Buyer Profile
During the second Meeting we will go over your resume and credentials. We will go through and fill out all of the necessary preliminary paperwork. We will also need to see financial details and references to qualify you to purchase the business. At this time we will also draft and sign a confidentiality agreement.
Phase 3 — Putting the deal together
At this phase your ABBI associate will review your proposal and go through the business summary with you. This is also where you will seek out the seller's approval of your offer. We will also go through any questions you may want to put forward to the business.
Phase 4. The Deal Process
At this phase you will be able to tour the prospective business. You will go through all of the analysis of the business/industry with your ABBI Associate. Your associate will also take you through the purchase proposal. At this stage you will be able to start purchase negotiations which will allow us to put our final agreement together.
Phase 5 — Final Closing
This is the stage where you will be able to complete any due diligence needed. You will also be able to make changes to the final agreement. ABBI will review your financing and finalize any documents relating to that. We will set and follow a timetable for final closing. Your ABBI associate will also have all of the documents prepared and in order before the final close.
